Network Edge Security Management (NESM)
Network Edge Security Management (NESM) is the practice of measuring, tuning and governing all edge security controls (WAFs, CDNs, bot tools, edge rules) as one system instead of vendor by vendor.
Most organizations buy edge security tools one at a time and manage each in its own console. Nobody can answer simple questions across the stack: which applications are unprotected, which rules block real customers, or whether a new vulnerability is covered everywhere.
NESM adds a management layer above the existing tools. It typically covers three jobs: assessing posture across vendors, recommending rule changes per application, and automating how those changes are tested and rolled out.
Where Huskeys fits
Huskeys introduced NESM as a category and built its platform around the assess, recommend and orchestrate model.
